We’ve both always loved the wedding scene. But the truth is, everything changed when we realized wedding stationery was more than just paper–it was a blank canvas for storytelling and art.
Our backgrounds are pretty unique given the nature of our business. Madison is a former corporate-girly slash journalist and digital media manager, and Katherine is a professional artist who traveled the country taking every opportunity to practice her art. So how do these two things result in wedding stationery? Well the fact is, journalism is storytelling, and art brings stories to life. So we put our brains together to make that happen.

What started off as volunteering myself to help with design and prints by referral, quickly turned into falling head over heels for paper goods. With each project, I grew more and more passionate about helping brides tell their love story through the power of art and design for all of their wedding stationery and day-of goods. Fast forward to today, what was once my little hobby is now a full-service stationery design company–striving to take care of all of your paper and print needs from proofs to the post
office!!
And the best part? I get to blend art with storytelling, creating something that our clients can cherish forever–all alongside a great business partner and friend!
Hey, friends! I'm Madison. Founder and co-owner of MadPie Designs. Believe it or not, I didn’t always know I had a love for custom stationery. After working in journalism and digital media management for the better half of a decade, I left my life as a corporate girly to be a stay-at-home mom—which is the best job I’ve ever had! But that said, while staying home to raise my twin girls, I missed having a creative outlet. I constantly found myself taking on new projects and discovering new industries…enter my discovery for creating custom stationery!

Meet Madison
Years later, I took a hiatus from art to move back home with my daughter during my husband’s overseas military deployment. The last thing I expected during this time was to paint, let alone start a business, but God’s plans are always better than our own.
In the midst of praying for my husband’s safety overseas and raising our daughter, I found a new direction for my art in the wedding industry. Now, I love creating custom work for each of our clients by painting their wedding venues, custom crests, wedding details, and more for their custom wedding suites!
Let me put down the brush for a second–hey, there! I’m Katherine, the artistic lead and co-owner here at MadPie Designs.
My passion for art goes back as far as I can remember. I’ve always felt a sense of peace when painting and knew I wanted to pursue art professionally at a young age. Fast forward, I received an art degree from the University of Texas and spent years learning various techniques and mediums–but it wasn’t until I moved to San Diego I fell in love with watercolor. It was there that I joined the San Diego Watercolor Society and was able to practice my technique and start commissioning custom work.

We both married our college sweethearts. We both have daughters that we love and adore. And above all else, we are both followers of our Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ.
In everything we do, we seek to serve His higher purpose. We love celebrating the gift and sanctity of marriage through the work that we create. We strive to support and prioritize our growing families through honing in on our crafts and God-given gifts. And above all else, we are disciples of His very name–for He is so SO very good!
